Ross Island

Ross Island in Killarney National Park can be accessed from Ross Castle Car Park and provides some beautiful woodland walking with excellent views of the mountains and the lower lake. It also includes a marked mining trail which traces the history of the old copper mines that date back to the Bronze Age. Along the way there is a pathway that leads to the Governor's Rock before the route winds its way out to Library Point so called because of the the rock formations there.
